This week’s episode of ‘The Baseball Show’ featured a look at several key contributors for the Nationals during the month of August.

The first video focuses on Adam LaRoche and how good the Nats first baseman has been all season. LaRoche is enjoying another solid year with 19 home runs, 68 RBI and a career-high .375 on-base percentage.

Mark also gets into whether the Nationals should bring LaRoche back next season, given the mutual option in his contract for 2015

Check it out here:

This second clip analyzes the impact Asdrubal Cabrera has made since joining the Nationals in a deadline trade:

Way to go Ghost. I just saw the news break. Michael Taylor clearly has to play every day in Syracuse but I personally think Shierholtz was rushed to service. They had 8 days to make this move.

Talking about timing I heard Schierholz was thought to need a few more days. Yes he hit a HR but he also K’d in 6 of 19 ABs.

I agree. I would have waited but I think Rizzo wanted him here for this Giants series and lets face it, Taylor was clearly over-matched. That long swing was beautiful for 1 game, after that it was just a reincarnation of Danny Kaye.

Just confirmed by Nats. Schierholtz takes Taylor’s place in DC and McLouth place on 40 man
